Classic hand wound calatrava with small subseconds, cal. 215, and around 33-34mm iirc.
Very well proportioned and traditionally styled, it's sadly under appreciated by today's market.
Unlike the standard "96" series the case has a stepped rather than flat bezel. Case back is solid if that matters to you, but reflects traditional tastes for that era of production. The modern equivalent I suppose would be the 5123, but I've never taken a shine to that one. Aside from the ever increasing case diameter (using that same cal 215 that was more appropriately designed for a 31-33mm case), the lugs are "unique" to say the least. Flip over the 5123 and take a look at the back side. In what I can only assume to be an effort to distract from the obvious disparity between small movement/ large case, Patek has created something that I find interestingly unappealing (see image below and judge for yourself).
Find a nice 5023, appreciate its small/classic, size, and you'll be happy.
