Strangely (or not), Miles also mentioned the case size. I tend to prefer bigger case diameters (40 mm +), although I liked 5170P on my wrist which is 39,4 mm. Looking at the photos, 5270 indeed looks quite large on my wrist. When I personally looked at it at the AD, it seemed to fit my wrist perfectly, at least from my point of view.

No cons for the 5270 from me whatsoever. My favourite is the g with blue dial. [nt]

If this watch
fits your wrist (and in the photo it clearly does), buy it as in my opinion, it is the best Patek for sale under £200k. For a start the patina on the dial is as close to perfection as a dial colour could be. The movement is what Patek are famous for - the perpetual calendar chronograph. The ratio of the height to diameter of the watch is very well balance and the layout of the dial is arguably perfect. For a year I wanted this watch so much but my silly wrist made even by AD confirm that 41mm even with these lovely lugs are too large me. In fact even the 39.4mm 5170P is too large for me. So lucky you because you will get many hours of owner satisfaction from the 5270R.

Have you tried 5230G? I know it is 40 mm but on my wrist it wore noticeably smaller than 5170P with its 39.4 mm.
I tried it last week and wasn't impressed either.
Liked 5170P better but none of these comes close to 5270 or 5970, IMO.
DNA wise its got all the qualities you look for in a complicated watch.
Just beautiful , i believe a joy to wind and wear.

Balance is what makes it so
I totally agree - just about perfect in every way.
The complications are impressive, but not overbearing.
The size and height are decent, but not bulky or flimsy.
Even the symmetrical balance of the face is so even.
I find the 3970 a bit too small but the 5970 and 5270 spot on.
I have a 5970R and I love the watch...
As others have noted, the layout, size and general appeal are great.
I go back and forth on whether I prefer the WG version....certainly platinum would be top of list.
