My Geneva trip ended with a nice finish, to be able to take home the latest release from the House of Patek Philippe, the new Stainless Steel Blue dial with diamonds 24!! It is designed for the ladies but on my wrist this PP 36mm looked right and with the sunburst Blue dial, smart looking casual watch. It was an offer by the Salon as they do not have too many for the first order. On the contrary, the brown dial do look feminine and therefore the blue for me. Actually the price for this SS with diamonds closed the deal, a unisex watch for myself and my other half... You have to try it out on your own wrist to see how well it sit and the overall dimension.. As usual, they gave me lots of exclusive gifts for my trip home. This is my second PP purchased in Geneva Salon this year, so lucky to walk in and walk out with another Stainless Steel watch...
As I have wrote in another thread, HK retailers don't sell at Recommended Retail Prices, all hiking up to rack in more profits. Even with exchange rate, I get what I want without squeezing my balance by these ADs.. I wear it as a dressy sports watch. ..
I feel your pain about buying watches in HK. Rolex is notorious for keeping a blind eye on retailers who sell above MSRP. Patek, however, take on a different strategy. Dealers are not allowed to sell above list price. But for models in high demand such as steel nautilus and aquanauts, dealers are only allowed to sell to local customers (who will need to present a business card for new customers, with professionals such as lawyers and doctors preferred) given the very high demand and Patek's curbing of sales of its watches in the grey market. The 10% discount that is allowed by Patek, however, will be given at the discretion by the dealer. In fact, all dealers have stopped offering 10% discount for all nautilus and aquanaut models
