Finally did it after 4 years of dreaming
I have always loved the 5070 reference,The case mainly was the thing that caught my attention,A sense of Art Deco maybe.When trying on different metals those past years they all were nice but nothing compared to the platinum version with the blue dial.
I was so close more than once to buy a G or an R but pulled back just before wiring the money.I knew I will always look at the P and say “I wish”.
Decided to wait till it’s the right time and buy the P,Seeing the reference jump up in prices lately made me lose hope almost,You don’t get to see many of them specially in mint condition and a full set.Until one day I received a message from a reputable dealer telling me he had received an excellent example and the rest was history.
Here are some photos taken by my phone,I will try posting better quality photos for the reference.Just wanted to share my experience.

I feel the same towards the 5070P
I was going to buy a 5970P right before I bought this,But I decided to buy this first as I prefer it to the 5970P.
The 5970P might win the size contest but the blue dial here wins and the factor X.
Moreover I like the fact it takes less than a minute to set it unlike the PCC.

You also gave a good example of a winning strategy that I also (try to) follow -- to shoot only for the best for our collection, even if it might take a bit longer, but never give up and settle for less ;-) Congrats again!

I never had that feeling from owing a watch.Ticks all boxes.As soon as you strap it on your wrist,You know you have done the right thing buying this watch.Immediately......I usually blame myself after a big buy like this.With this Never!
