White gold discolouration
hi all,
my white gold nautilus is getting these odd black marks across the bezel and on parts of the strap ... anyone else having similar issues ?
my 5711 steel dated 2020 also had the same problem in the same position as your watch
it's still there. I don't know if it is a result of some chemical reactions because I wear my watch doing sport like cycling and swimming.
At least it is still under warranty...
A guy on the rolexforums reported similar issues in 2019 or 2020. His 5711 developed recurring brown spots like rust on both sides of the bracelet exactly where the pins are covered up with metal on the non-removable links. In the end he got a new watch from Patek but I am not sure they ever told him what the issue was.
I haven't had any issues with mine from 2018 but maybe I just don't know as I keep using my IWC Mark XV beater for sports and swimming.

I don’t have those marks on my 5740G. Are those marks on your photo discoloration or scratch marks over the brushed area?
these are not scratches
.. there is no change in texture of the metal ..looks almost like how a cigarette burn would look ...

Didn’t mention it but am guessing it must have been - either that or they put the movement into an entirely new case … it really does look absolutely brand new !

I wouldn't have been happy if the fix was to polish the watch so it it would be worth asking unless that doesn't bother you?
