It took me quite a while but now I am happy that I could add this beauty to my collection. The 2008 edition from Patek’s Advance Research department with a handful of technical novelties.

Congrats! IMO - a very different piece from the 5146. Love that salmon dial and charcoal indices. One of my favorite Pateks.

It's been years since I've thought of this ref. Always loved the dial. Plus they used it to R and D some hairsprings right? Def cool.

That watch still haunts me
Perfect choice Cayenne. I saw this watch at a dealer while in Paris for other matters some years ago. I was interested but never pulled the trigger. Do you really want to have an annual calendar? Do you want to pay such a premium for having a few alternative materials who are now standard in many PP movements?
But the thing is: It is absolutely gorgeous and perfect and I envy you. It has that X factor CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Great look and very legible. I love my regular 5146 (cream dial). A real pleasure to wear on the wrist.
I have a 5146 (cream dial) as well.
I like the dial color and black markers of your 5450. Easy to read.
BTW, you need to adjust your Moon Phase if the photos are recent. I double checked with my 5146 and a moon phase calendar to make sure - today is a new moon.

Tried it on myself couple years back, but the wallet or/and watch budget that year was already empty. It’s the one Patek I’m still dreaming of adding to my collection one day.

This watch is truly special for me with its beautiful colour contrast of the rose dial (as Patek calls it in the papers) and the platinum case.
For my eyes the colour of the dial has nothing to do with „salmon“ as it is commonly referred to.
