My Hand Grenade
One of my favorite pieces. It’s so casual and has such good presence on the wrist. I’ll be sad to see it go as I’m adding a 5270p with the green dial to the collection next year so probably don’t want/need two green watches. But Patek did it right with this piece. 42mm. Perfect weight and presence. I truly enjoy this piece. My only wish is that it was the chrono version but I got this before those were released.

The 5167A (steel) limited edition that was offered a few years ago is indeed hard to tell from the 5168G (grey gold) in the regular catalog from the pictures! But I believe this is the latter ;-)

Believe it or not this picture was out of the iPhone. I’ve been struggling with my iPhone pics cause they look too washed out and hazy. You have to post process them. Now I have a full blown studio with a light box as I’m a bit of an amateur photographer but that just takes too much effort. I figured out that if you edit the pics and adjust your contrast, black point, shadows and a few other settings in the iPhone - the pics look 100x better. If you look at my 5270 strap thread, compare the preview photo to the actual photo when you click on the link. I uploaded those pics and hated them and went back and edited them and changed it. Looks much better after editing. iPhone tends to over process images and make them look like crap. A bit of work but the end result is worth it.

I just don’t know if I wanna do it. I’m really trying to simplify life. Having close to 1/2 million tied up in 2 watches while doable- do I really need to do it. Just as an FYI- I also have the 5968a. So I feel like I have my sport watch fetish taken care of. Anyways- 5270p is a ways out so lots can happen!
Very nice portrait of the 5168G, one of the best photos which showed the true colour of the khaki green dial.
This dial is totally different from the smoked gradient green dial of the new 5270P. Hence there’s no redundancy to keep both.
Despite slightly large at 42mm, the 8.25mm height gives 5168G a very thin profile, which is rare and to me extremely desirable for a sport watch.
Besides, a duo collection of sport and dress watches, both in green color would be an interesting theme

Maybe I keep the 5168 And instead sell some other pieces. Would be nice to have two aquanauts to perpetual calendar’s. Let’s see how things play out. Thank you all for your valuable feedback

I seen before? The new sunburst green on 5270P is superb and definately more striking than the olive green on 5711-014 and 5905a
