Patek Phillipe 5316P 2023 Version.
The only Patek which caught my interest, this year, with its darkened transparent dial.
Minute repeater, Retrograde Perpetual Calendar, and Tourbillon on the Back. These are the ingredients.
The sublime back, with its Cal R TO 27 PS QR.
The proportions are those of an elegant watch, with a diameter of 40, 2 mm and well, not too high for such a combination of complications: 13, 23 mm.
The price is, well... A bit above 900, 000 Euros tax included. Which will lead to classify this watch in the Dream Category.

I could furtively see it at the Patek Booth, in Geneva, it is not disappointing at all.

This 5316 and the 5531 world time minute repeater are the best PP releases by far this year.
I would love to see something more " neutral ", such as a or several continents, or a starry sky, for the 5531.
Yes, agreed, the Swiss flag, although historically "neutral" is an inherently non-neutral design :)

Yep, perhaps unsurprisingly I'd definitely add some Rare Handcrafts to my favorite Patek releases this year (e.g., the 5189G automotive themes plus at least one of the pocket watches), but no doubt the 5531 and 5316 are at the *very* top! ;-) Cheers.

Clearly all the underlying horology anyone could every want. For me I can't stand this (and all similar patek retrograde PC displays) where the leap year eats into the retrograde hand. Made worse by the framing around the leap year on this model. This is a hard no. Even if patek gave me one I'd trade it for a different grand complication.
I see, and I agree, not as strongly as you, but I would have preferred without eating the retrograde calendar.
Could the leap year indicator be moved to the back of the watch ?
after all, when I the watch is set, few people wonder if today is the second or third year until next leap year?

There are some watches with it on the back.. only needed for setting. I do think there is some desire for a leap year indicator - showing a watch is perpetual, not annual. Obviously a watch at this price and level of horlogy you either know what it is or you don't.
