Please help identify Patek Philippe pocket watch
This Patek Philippe pocket watch originally belonged to my great-grandfather and is engraved on the back with his initials. It includes a 15" gold-Pt chain. I'm curious as to what model it is, when it was manufactured, and any other information.
I tried gently to open it by pressing on the "ears'" but didn't want to apply much force, and I didn't know if there's a dust shield under the back with the serial no. etc, or if the back opens and exposes the movement directly.

Hi,
without more information, best movement and case number, it's impossible to say something meaningfull.
As purely a guess and judging by what I can see only, it looks like made for the american market.
You may try to open the back, use your fingernails only - as you said, there is most likely a second cover (cuvette) which you can open as well.
In some cases it's not possible to open with the fingernails only - in that case you may ask a local watchmaker to help out.
In case you want to get some bettere founded information you can order an extract of the archives by PP through their website (but you'd need movement and case number for this as well and it will cost a bit).

I agree that it looks like it was made for American market : the spelling of Geneva instead of Geneve. Took the watch to a clock repair shop where they easily opened the back.
Surprise! There's a photo of great-grandma printed directly on the cuvette! So, this must have been a gift from her to him, perhaps for an anniversary.
Here are the numbers:
On the case perimeter: "No. 162521. PATEK PHILIPPE & Co. GENEVA, SWITZERLAND"
On the inside of the back cover: "PP.Co." and "18Kts" in side by side rectangles about 1x3 mm each. Two small hallmark stamps that are hard to see clearly, one centered between the rectangles and one above. Below them the number "269580", and below that a larger cross pattern with leaves at each of the compass points.
Also, there's another small stamp on the back of the stem, also hard to see clearly.
Didn't open the cuvette.
