If you could have one of those 2 superb pieces, which one would you take .... AND WHY ?
in addition to the chronograph function, it has 3 other functions not found in the 5070P; annual calendar, power reserve, and day/night indicator.
I own all 3 : 5960 5980 and come next week the 5970
The 5960 with so many features is definitely good value for money
The 5980 is bold and brash and very hot - first time a chrono function is put into the stylish iconic
Nautilus body.
The 5970 - comes from the 3970 my dream watch for the past 18 years
I missed out the all platinum 3970 some 4 years ago.It was offered at a very good price
I am kicking myself in the butt for this booboo
The chrono function with perpetual calender a truly classic combination
and never fails to attract attention.
Only the 5004's classic features can outshine this great model.

There is no substitute for the manual Lemania based 5070 caliber. The best chronos are manual wound. No dispute about that
And 5070P is the cream of the cream of all 5070's. The finale. None coming after.
Wait for 10 yrs and see for yourself if Patek will put out any automatic split seconds chrono perpetual. Then you will understand what I mean.
My dream collection will be : 5070, 5020, 5004, 5959. But I am stuck in the middle..
Cheers,
Larry

Well I must say I love both the watches. I've had my 5960P for a while now and love it. I just received my 5070P this week so I am one of the lucky ones I guess. I didn't expect it so quick but its here. So the answer to your question, I would choose the 5070P hands down for long term collect-ability. Its a sure bet. The movement will be no more after this year. Good luck
