...nobody notices.

To tell the truth, I like it this way.

I have gotten two compliments EVER on a watch. One--a busboy liked my TAG, about ten years ago. And two... I actually can't remember, but I know it happened. No one ever notices watches, ever... and if they do, I think it is outside of their ideas of 'reality' to imagine what these watches cost... I think it's not even a thought... I think only watches that look very very expensive (diamonds and rg or yg) or huge 45mm plus watches get noticed... No one really cares about our silly hobby...

I like it that way. When you wear any Rolex, you
are practically screaming at the top of your lungs
for a mugger to come rob you immediately. You
could probably wear a $600,000 Patek and nobody
would ever notice it. A mugger would be thinking
"it's not worth my while stealing that guys watch
for the $50 I'll get when I pawn it."

out in the wild... I think simple Subs don't get much attention, as s o many other watches look just like them... and so many are fakes... but then again, I live in a town where there are a whole lotta fine timepieces out there...

Agree with you - I almost got robbed when I wore my gold Rolex - got tailed by 3 youngsters.

Had to enlist the help of a friend with the physique of Hulk Hogan to escort me back to my

car.

Nobody looked at  me when I wore my PP 3940.

" Sir, you have a very nice Swatch. May you let me admire it ? "

Me:

" Yes, of course ".

Him:

" Were can I buy the same? I want the same! ".

Me:

" Long time sold out model, Sir. "

So nice to hear your policeman story,now i will tell you mine,

As i was having tea with my associates and one of them is my accountant age around 60's.

Accountant: Young man what happen to you?You are already short sighted/far sighted?(he was refering to my Panerai Godzilla 47mm).

Me:Well.....lately  i find it hard to read those small index on small watches,i guess sign of getting old.

Accountant:From the look at your watch i can tell that.I guess,i need one like yours except they are big chunk and look heavy,dont they?

Me:LOLOLO.....yes,big and heavy!

I try to think back and I realized I got at least one compliment each for all my watches from stranger or new friends.
My rolex is the only one with compliments from woman though
I must have been staring at my watches too long that they notice it.
