Patek Philippe

Hi all

Any owners of this model use it as a daily wearer? How robust is it? I'm thinking of getting this as

my next piece - eventually! and see it as something i'd want to wear everyday. Any opinions/feedback would be much appreciated

and for me it feels like an every day watch with useful complications with that Patek Philippe feel and wrist presence which is like no other.........
I carry out most daily tasks in it with no problems. It does not seem to pick up any scratches or dings which is interesting.....
Good for swimming in also

can be used as a daily beater, with useful calender function. chrono takes abit of time to get used to, and truth be told, i still get confused. anyway, the platinum is great, can feel the weight, without being excessive. very modern chrono. my only gripe : power reserve is 55 hours, which is great if you wear every other day. i wear mine once a week, and its a pain to keep having to adjust the dates and day.

I only have a six winder and one singular unit, all are used for other watches unfortunately. Also, I am just to lazy to place a weeky wear watch in a winder, I just leave them in the drawer.

You don't get some watches out every few days and give them a wind and polish???????
What else is there to do in the dark cold evenings???? LOL... Make love to the wife???
What sort of a collector are you???  One with a life I guess.

It's like marrying a really pretty but high maintenance wife, you just work your butt off to maintain the lifestyle, not to live it, sadly.

I know I am a terrible purists....think is is listed on the forum by-rules , thou shall caress thy watch every evening.

combination is making love to the wife while admiring the the luminescence on my 5712/1A  (or Aquanaut on those more "casual" occasions).

I wore one daily for a long time. No problems at all, all thought mine did not see water, mainly because I don't use a watch to swim

does anyone use it as continuous sweep seconds hand, 24/7? I've read that

as it's virtually friction free it can run non-stop.

Mine is in use as a daily beater. I guess I'll wear it for a long time. I see no reason to die without having worn my watches.
I was told by PP to leave the sweep hand running, and I do so.
This is a perfectly tough watch, but the deploying clasp should be replaced with a buckle as it is not suitable for the platinum watch weight.
You might prefer one of the manual-wind chronos if you like better pusher feel and a more beautiful movement. I prefer some of my other pieces, but those are more fragile - and ostentatious

Am i correct in thinking the chrono sweep hand when activated is only synced up

to the chrono monocounter and not the main dail's hour and minute hand? if so how

is it possible to tell the true accuracy of the main dial's timekeeping i.e. how many seconds it's

losing or gaining per day? Is it easy/possible to sync the chrono sweep hand with the main dial's timekeeping?

In short the answer is NO, the seconds hand cannot be synched excepy by the simple expedient of ... leaving the chrono running.
The minute hand is pretty long and minutes have subgraduation, so the clock time can be read to within less than 10 seconds.
Actually, if you stare at the minute hand, you can see it "walk" a bit like the second hand.

It's ok as a daily beater. If you want tougher, and want to swim with your watch, then get a Nautilus chrono, or satisfy your basest instincts and shop Rolex.

...no problem so far. The chrono is usually running to clear the sweeping second hand from the date window.

Accuracy is good not as precise as my Casio though.
