Advice and help in identifying a Platinum Lady's Calatrava!

Evening folks!

I hope that all of you had a great week, and is looking forward to the weekend! With Christmas just around the corner, arent you all excited?

I have been looking at this watch recently which caught my eyes, I am thinking of acquiring it for my fiancee and very soon wife to be, but because i am not a Patek expert, and i cant seem to find much information on it, i was hoping you Patek guys will be able to help me identify it, and assist me in making the right informed decision!

 

According to the seller, this piece was manufactured from 1952 until 1960. The case diameter is 20mm while the crystal is a acrylic/ plexiglass. The movement is naturally a hand wound. Additionally, this is claimed to be a really rare Lady's Calatrava that is available in Platinum, while the others are mainly gold. The back as you can see is engraved with the words " Mae Southworth Knudsen award 1958", anyone have an idea what award is this? Where was it awarded? In USA, Europe? WHat was the award about and for?

Lastly it is said that this is probably the smallest diameter wristwatch that Patek has ever made, anyone can help me verify this claim?

I have attached photos of the watch from the seller, i hope this is ok with the mods, if not please delete, i do not know how to edit the photos without showing the outside merchant link. Please help me try to cover the link but let the photo remain so those who want to help me is able to do so.

 

This watch might just make it onto my fiancee's wrist, but i am simply waiting for your advice!

First of all: it is NOT he smallest diameter Patek.

By far not: reference 32- series was a tiny 15 mm only, handwound certainly, like the 3267, 3266, ... .

But the vendor said: "I believe it is the smalest ....".

The formulation itself is a clear hint that it might not be, and as you see, it is not.

The watch in focus now: I found the equivalent in YG and the case is the same.

However he dial is not like this and the current Calatravas like, it has got a printed 12, round indices for the hour and

also printed short stripes under that round, corpuscular hour indices.

Additionally the three, six and nine o'clock indices have got a corpuscular baton under the round ones.

The dial is saying "Patek Phillipe Co and Geneve" as the YG I found was from 1947.

To keep it simple: I would buy his only if the vendor can supply a confirmation from Patek.

Simple as that!

So, stay "alert" as these items we love and want to get are all based on emotions and imagination already and

to add to all this "believe" is not what I would do.

I hasten to thank you for the views that you have given unto me!

Through this i understand much more, and you are very right about our emotions getting in the way of things often, and in doing so often times we make a blunder and regret our actions.

For sure now i am not going to purchase this watch, as it has a rather huge amount of doubt behind it.

Around the year late 1950's, around 58' - 59.

Movement 8'" 85. .... size 20.5 mm.
