People seem to buy quite well the claims of different steels... and Rolex is selling their ideas well. I have pretty many watches and according to my experience there are no major differences between the steel of Rolex, Patek, VC, Breguet, Cartier, JLC, AP, etc.
The design of the case is more important. I have no problems with my Aquanaut but I can imagine that scratches in the brushed bezel could be seen. But I do not have any scratches I could see. Probably if I took a loupe, I could find one but when I'll take my watch for the service in about three years, I will get it polished subject that there are some disturbing scratches.
What comes to the movement I have no comments. My watch is accurate, the date is changing correctly so simply there is nothing special to say about it. My 5167 is not more nor less accurate than any of my other high end watches.
Why I like to wear is my Aquanaut, is because it is so comfortable and slim just like you said.
Best, Kari
