I saw this watch in the spring in the wrist of the CEO of Patek and fell in love. I was given an opportunity to acquire the watch but I had just bought my 5140P just before.
I really love my 5140P and I would probably choose it marginally over 5550P. However, if I would have now free assets to buy more watches, here would be a picture of 5140P and 5550P side-by-side.

I am intrigued by the technical improvement of the "power reserve".
It was mentioned a 50 % improvement. Would you think that it is because of the incomplete (not fully circular)

I reckoned that it could be lighter to spin and oscillate and that is why energy efficiency is up 50 %
I wish you could comment more as you wrote the technical bit but I enjoyed both the pictures and the post.
Good reviews should be kept somewhere permanently and this article is certainly worth archiving.
