Ha! You might be onto something.
Interestingly they are rumoured not to be making a left handed version. It'll just flip the display for left handed use. Might be a little odd with the crown and button swapped - unlike your flipped image - which is how it should be.
Am also intrigued to see how the apple interpretation of the Milanese strap works in practice.

Now that you mention it, this might be the very first "left handed version" of the Apple Watch on the interwebs! 
Yes indeed, it will be interesting to see how this and other straps work in practice, as well as the watch itself.
If Apple Watch falls flat, it will be the first major fail in modern times for Apple. I wonder... I'm not convinced it serves any wanted or needed purpose... at least not yet. But it's hard to bet against Apple. Let's see, we'll know shortly!

Guess they took inspiration from various sources, but, yes, there's a definite similarity there. The biggest similarity, to my eye, is with with the Ikepod Manatee, which is to be expected I guess given that Marc Newson is working for Apple.

Thanks for sharing that info + photo. I've heard in passing the comparison to ikepod but never actually looked at the two watches side by side. Very similar indeed. Newson working for Apple does strengthen your theory quite a bit! hmm, perhaps we need to increase our degree of separation to: PP 3582 -> Ikepod -> Apple Watch
