The PP 5050 Retrograde Perpetual Calendar is rare by today's standards

I remember the Geneva Salon had the last 5050 sold to our fellow purist when the purists group visited the PP factory years ago.

That is a very handsome watch.

the spirit of Patek Philippe very well. My favorite 5050 comes with roman numbers, by a small margin

it has baton hour markers matched with the semi-circle date dial and thus make the dial clean overall.

If hour markers were numerals, then to me it would be too busy.

well balanced and almost perfect. Compared to 5050 the newer R-PCs were butchered executions, in which the same caliber was simply fitted into larger cases resulting in chopped dates and disproportionally small day and month windows and fonts. 

beautiful background . I am sure the people who carved St. Patrick's Cathedral Doors are also skilled craftsman.

Interesting as I just fished mine out of the safe and wore it steadily for nearly a month.  The watch is just retro enough to be interesting, but not so retro as to seem contrived.  And with extended wearing it reminds me why I sold my 5059.  The 5050 IMHO is so much more refined and understated.  Jeff
