Zenith

To mirror the recent Zenith event in Singapore last month (As reported by Kong, home.watchprosite.com ), Zenith also presented to the Malaysian media and watch enthusiast community their latest offerings in an event that allowed the brand and the President and CEO, Mr Jean-Frédéric Dufour, to touch base. Also present was Mr. Jean-Marc Lacave, President of LVMH Watch & Jewellery Asia Pacific as well as Zenith Brand Manager of Malaysia and Singapore, Ms Vivian Lee.

I was privy to both the media as well as the evening showcase dinner at the newly opened Tanzini at G Tower in downtown KL.

Mr Dufour at the press media event sharing with us the latest pieces as well as the upcoming direction of Zenith.







I managed to get a shot of the CEO against the backdrop of the KL skyline.



As night fell, the surroundings changed...





The restaurant was slowly being setup for the arrival of guests...









The guests came trickling in...

Messrs Woon Wai En, Andrew Lee and Tay Liam Khoon (the latter of Sincere Watches) discussing the latest news in the industy.

And took some time to look at the watches on display.



Dinner began an Mr Dufour welcomed us with a speech and further information and news about the brand as well as a video presentation.





The guests had a good time tucking into the food while admiring the watches and sharing thoughts and ideas with Mr Dufour.

Zenith appears to go back to more moderate and conversative line of products.  To me, the new watches are beautiful and more acceptable to the Zenith's fans here.

I didn't know that KL night skyline can be quite attractive.

I guess he found you or vice versa.

My opinion of the Zenith watches - it's hard to properly comment on the finishing as some of them were prototypes. But I like the direction of 'no nonsense' of the newer watches and basically the consolidation of Zenith's strengths in the new designs e.g the registers in the basic EP chronos were designed to ensure that the movement doesn't look too small in the larger cases.

Got a few shots of Mr Dufour against the Twins. Considering the view, it was not to be missed

for the coverage.It's good to see Zenith coming back on track.Some interesting pieces,especially the chronos.Need to check them out sometime.

Your photos were terrific!
There are still a few oddities in the line - the "open love" for example.

The Elites don't do much for me because they look so generic.

The Retrotimers look very 80s "Swatch"

The Chronos are more back on track to what makes Zenith great.

Then again, these may be the watches introduced for the Asian market (a little different from Euro or American).

I think your photo of Mr. Dufour and the KL skyline should go into their corporate literature.  Phenomenal photo!

I really like this new direction from Zenith and am certainly considering some of their models for my own watch box.
