Hi All,

Hopefully some of you joined me last weak, wore your El Primero-powered Zenith's and monitored the accuracy of the movement .

I wore my manual wind Prime 12 hours per day and checked the daily variation at 7pm every evening. The watch was fully wound each morning, so the tension on the mainspring was the same for each measured period. The watch is 15 years old and was last serviced 2 years ago.

Daily variation: +2, -2, 0, -5, +5, +4, +3, +2 seconds.

Average daily variation: +2.9 seconds

Gain over 8 days: +9 seconds

How did you fair?

. . . the swing between Days 4 and 5. Was the chrono in working mode on day 4? . . .

Yes, an interesting variation. I don't have a clear explanation. I may have been hiking more on the -5 day, but I used the chronograph for short periods on all days. And in the past I haven't observed a difference in performance when the chronograph was engaged continuously for days (just as I did for the MB TimeWalker Chronograph). Perhaps I should put the Prime through another series of more controlled tests?

Maybe it was a day with a lot of time with the crown-up...perhaps one of those days sitting in front of a keyboard with your head in your hands?
