My taste has long been for the Hommage especially the Chronograph Mono-Pusher manual. But I have to say that I am more and more attracted/fascinated by the Micro-Rotors. To me it is the perfect symbiosis between the purity of a manual movement and the practicality of an automatic movement. With Excalibur RD 681 it's the first time I see a Micro-Rotor in a chronograph and I find it superb.

except - there was at least one micro-rotor chronograph movement before, and it was even one of the very first automatic chronograph movements ever produced: The Breitling/Heuer/Büren Cal. 11 (image from the internet, all of them):



Of course, it lacked the refinement of the RD and it was in essence a modular movement (based upon an existing Büren micro rotor movement and an existing chronograph plate).



Its easy to recognise with crown and pushers on opposite sides (a consequence of the modular construction):
