Photography

Some would say any picture with a Ferrari or Alfa Romeo in situ can never be boring to a car guy, but what about as a photograph, where the overall IMAGE and its visual impact is as important as the subject? Are these just plain, boring shots? If so, what could "pump them up?" Before the shutter click? Framing? Composition? Perspective? Exposure? Focus? In post? Looking forward to reading your thoughts.

Curiously interested in the Alfa and how it handles. The 308GTB was a fun car in its day but on sweeping and fast corners the fuel supply would cut out and there would be some stutter coming out of the corner.

The mechanic's explanation went something along the lines that this was a characteristic of the carburettor version of car in conjunction with the non performing handbrake.

As sports car.
I cannot overemphasize how different (and for me, pleasurable) a light sports car is to a heavier one, in ways that are no immediately obvious.
More on the Alfa soon, I hope.

Yes I had a 308 GTB in the 70's. Everything was great about at the time it except for the two points mentioned above.

that last shot is the hook for non-car viewers... also notice the white line in the last shot vs. the second to last shot.  The first three could be cropped even drastically, viewers would add the missing bits without thinking about it (loose the walking people)...  the roads are a mess, carry 50 gallons of water and hose down the street ; )

I like the shadows of the bicycles...  seriously the photos show the cars in action and with a beautiful background...  and we get it that you guys were having a lot of fun.

Suggesting rather than showing... That's my stuff.  

barring that, I might do some minor editing to the pavement to lose the distracting patches rather than hosing them down as Casey suggested. For sure, I'd crop out that "Botts" dot on the last one, and maybe turn up the saturation a little more on the last three, so the ocean/sky blues would pop more.
