...brings back good memories. Third St Promenade looks to have really suffered from a dearth of retail shoppers...Shake Shack looks new. I had many fond memories of having a Johnny Rockets and shake, and then bolting to the cinema next door. Hennessy and Ingalls, and one Borders and the anchor B&N were oases of reading for a lazy afternoon, before a short walk along Ocean Ave just before twilight. Played lots of 'for-money' chess too with the old-timers near the Pier, and lost a few dollars. Alas--life moves on.

It's peak summer, so there is a tangible number of tourists at the moment, but aside of them the volume of people spending any length of time has fallen drastically due to homelessness and businesses deciding to move elsewhere....
