I admit that I had no idea😳 This post is as educational as it is impressive.
The concert hall, like anything from Gehry, is out of this world. Separately, I wonder what Dudamel is doing after this season. I always admired his passion since his beginnings as a young conductor.
Edit: I looked it up, Dudamel is going to NY afterwards.
My perspective on Gehry's work is both highly positive and neutral....
In the case of the WD Concert Hall, I have always dearly loved it, and consider it to be among the world's greatest feats of architecture, right up there with Zaha Hadid's work.... On the other hand, I can see why some of Gehry's other works are, to say the least, polarizing. I admittedly can't see the appeal in some of them myself.... I digress, since Dudamel resigned from the LA Phil, I haven't followed up on his whereabouts either so I sincerely appreciate the update! 🙏

I'd have to see in person to form a genuine opinion, but it clearly has the same design language as the WD Concert Hall.... I've never been to Chicago!....
Just in that immediate area: Gehry Disney Hall, Isozaki MOCA, AC Martin LA Water & Power, Moneo Cathedral, Himmelblau LAUSD, Morphosis CalTrans
and that's only hitting the most famous modern architects.
I have managed to avoid jury duty and haven't regretted it. Hope your experience wasn't too painful Filip.
To be perfectly honest....
I cannot really complain since this is the first time they actually selected me as a juror in my lifetime, and I'm 41. Previously I was told not to even show up most of the time, and last time I did go to court but was dismissed on the first morning.... I get it, we all have the civic duty to help out once in a blue moon 😉........
I've been called before but been dismissed. I'm a lawyer (albeit non-practicing) and it seems lawyers are commonly dismissed.
That may well be the case....
An entertainment law attorney was likewise dismissed in my case before the trial began.... I did however set my mind on becoming an expert witness at some point given the fees that they frequently collect 😁😇😁....
I mean....
An entomologist was raking in $700+ an hour 🙂. I could easily provide expert opinion in either real property or security for those kinds of wages 😊....
