If I had to own one UN, it would be a Freak without any hesitation. Innovative, unusual, cool... A perfect timepiece for a watch collector in my opinion
Hi Stefan. No doubt the Freak is a magnificent watch. It is near and dear to my heart and I treasure it. Besides it's esthetic appeal many seem to forget how earth shattering a breakthrough this watch has become.

Many of the features that the big Watch companies tout as new ideas are truly not. If you spend time in the Patek museum you'd see that what is thought to be new is not and has been done before, at times centuries ago. Not so for the Freak.
Think of all the unique features: the movement as part of the hands. The lack of a crown with the winding and setting mechanisms. The integration of the case and movement The huge main spring.
And then there is the escapement. It is the first production of a movement utilizing silicium. Think how far the industry has come since then. Most big and many little brands use silicium and here is the start.
We need to truly appreciate the Freak and those behind it, Rolf. Pierre and Ludwig and all the others at UN for so influencing the horological world with this and other watches and giving them their just due.
