technology. I love the versions with Breguet double direct escapement too - it fascinates me how they made it work with the use of modern materials and technology - something Mr Breguet did not have access too in his time and thus was unable to make his invented escapement work reliably.

Some time not too long ago, Ulysse Nardin decided to turn the Freak into a full line of watches. The Freak One is designed to slot in between the Freak X and Freak S, replacing the Freak Out. It will never replace the Freak S, just as the Freak Vision was never meant to replace the Freak Out.
Some people want to own the craziest Freak imaginable, while others want a Freak that says, "I tried to make a sensible purchase."
The Freak line is now made up of the realistic Freak, the aspirational Freak and the inspirational Freak.
I have always been drawn to the aspirational Freaks as opposed to the inspirational Freaks. I am sure there are others in the same boat.
