Who does not like a good game...
What first comes to mind for me is the Marine Diver. It was my first UN watch years ago, and I still love its design.
My dream piece, however, would be different. I have patiently awaited a fully faithful ship's chronometer hommage piece. The other versions to this point are not close enough for my eyes. Look at my real UN ship's chronometer, made in the late 1930s. Please continue to ignore the broken seconds hand; I have been meaning to send it to be fixed but I enjoy it so much I have not wanted be without it. Why can't this dial be reproduced exactly? Why can't I have it with a hand wind movement and proper hands? The AL&S Pour le Merit is incredible, Glashutte's new Senator Chronometer is very desireable, even if it adds a modern touch w/ a date function. I was very tempted by the Dornbluth Gorch Flock, and if not for the very high price tag I would have purchased it. Ulysse Nardin belongs in this company, and should be making this kind of watch.
So that is my dream UN my friend. Will it be answered?

Don´t have an actual picture, but just one word. One perfect word... SONATA.
White gold, blue dial and yellow hands with blued pointers, Sonata Cathedral Dual Time.
I've lost so many sleep hours to this watch. IMO an absolute UN watch, georgeous and fully DNA.

When I think of UN I immediately think in the Sonata. If I could only own one UN it would be this watch.
Fisrt of all the alarm; unique in the market, but the truly UN essence lays in the details...
The shape of the case, very nautical, and the hands and dial, more nautical even, if that's possible. Also, very interesting movement, complex but somewhat sturdy IMHO, and finished and decorated coherently to UN philosophy.
This watch combines the best of the best of the best; there might be watches like the MMD, the San Marco, the Jaquemart or the prpetuals but nothing retains more of the UN essence than the Sonata IMHO.
Cheers.

Now, that would be a greeeeat idea, Mitch!
Don't know, my friend...Just hope that yes, UN will remake such a fantastic trilogy!

Just the " normal" version, with a solid case bac, as it was the first batch of Sonatas, 4 years ago...
But a fantastic watch, too!
Best,

...is what comes to mind. The Freak is the watch that comes to mind first and foremost -- it is my dream U.N, but it may also be my only U.N. What I think about with U.N. is innovation. I love their innovative approach to many horological challenges, if not always their design aesthetic.

The Freak 1.0 speaks to me for its innovation and freedom from historical constraints.

Your photo and this watch perfectly summarize all that UN is capable of. I don't know about you or others who own or have worn this watch, but it is one of those rare experiences where you really feel you have something very extraordinary on your wrist. I actually enjoy the fact that almost no one outside of a very small group of WISes get what this watch is about and have any idea of how special it is.

my 2 dream UN's you know well enough. the Freak 1 and the Ludwig perpetual, a watch often forgotten as people only seem to mention the gmt +/-, but as we know the Ludwig was the first, from 1996, it has the lowest production run of 150 in YG and apparently 150 in RG although i've never seen one. putting all those things together i consider it the purest of the UN perpetuals. Dr Oeschlin is a genius and UN should consider themselves very lucky to have had his help over the years.
my 3rd and still to perhaps obtain dream watch is the Sonata. after i heard yours it is possibly the best Alarm watch on the market although i'm yet to hear the Vulcain Tourbillon golden gong.
a bit of eye candy

as a bit of a coincidence i'm wearing my Ludwig perp as we speak. its mt fathers 80th birthday on thursday and we're having a small family GTG. i dont want to wear anything overt like the Freak, but want something classic and fairly discreet. the Ludwig is my choice.

the Sonata would complete the UN collection....until another, not yet anticipated, specimen is revealed! (;-)
Great photos.

The Extravagance of the Freak, coupled to the Classy, dressy elegance of the UN Perpetual calendar...
Best of both worlds, my friend.
As for the Sonata...A killing watch, indeed, but you already now my love for this one!
Best!
Nicolas.
PS: Happy B.DAY to your father!
