I guess I could have contributed in the Omega forum but most of my pieces don't fit the mold around here. I do think you could put a Grand Seiko forum in though.
Many thanks to Zack for another amazing and smooth transaction. Much appreciated...
It fits in just fine with these other guys...
The build quality on this thing is amazing and the details are really well done. I am in awe that I have a bracelet than actually exceeds the quality of my Planet Ocean. That
floors me...
congrats on the MMD a stunning watch im sure you will get heaps of pleasure with this watch, a great addition to a nice collection
It was too small when it came so I threw on the extra links that came with it. Was slightly too loose. Thought I might need to buy a half link or something to change out a full link for a half link.
Just looked over the watch and found a half link already in residence. Removed it and... Perfect fit!
Question though... Is there a place to source the screws that hold the links together? These have led a rougher life and I would like to swap them for new ones at some point.
It's a great pickup! The dial is a fun, fresh color also. Just an all around handsome watch! I hope you enjoy it! Thanks for sharing pictures of your collection. I know there would be many PuristS who'd be excited about a Seiko forum (myself included).
Cheers,
Daos
Thanks for the kind words. As for a Seiko forum... It would obviously have to have limitations to fit into the mandate of this forum. It would be weird to have people discussing Seiko 5s on a Seiko forum while people are discussing a $150000 plus Lange Tourbillon for instance.
It would probably have to be a Seiko forum with limitations of Grand Seikos, Spring Drive, Credor, Laurel etc.
This forum has lots of Seiko content for those who want to chat about Grand Seiko etc:

I obviously need to spend more time checking out the forums on here. As for Grand Seikos, well, they opened up a Seiko Boutique here in Toronto, Canada and you can buy Grand Seikos there. What is weird though is that they do not seem to be promoting Credor outside of their usual markets and have used Grand Seiko to try and move Seiko upmarket in North America and elsewhere.
I actually think it's really important that we don't lose sight of the fact that honestly made "affordable" (affordable is different for everyone obviously) watches are worthy of discussion as well -- watches like the Seiko 5s. While the majority of discussion on the site is about higher end items, any talk of Seiko should IMO include both the starter pieces and dream watches like the Credor Spring Drive Sonnerie. Many lower end pieces contain the building blocks of haute horlogerie or flipping the concept around, are diluted versions of their "betters."

Ed an asianwatchforum regular is sourcing these from Sea-Gull HK and they are coming with papers from Sea-Gull.
The Sea-Gull ST19 powers the watch and is an awesome handwound column wheel chronograph. They are coming out with this watch in a 40mm size and I will probably snag one of those at one point. While this one is 38mm it does get time in the rotation. I have had 4 1963s now and 1 was an original.
As I mentioned I owned an original 1963 until recently:
I'm also a fan of this M192S Chronograph which also finds time in the rotation:
Plus you can admire the ST19 movement whenever I want to:
Sea-Gull makes some beautiful watches and like Seiko they are an affordable watch with "in-house" movements. The ST19 in the chronographs are cool because they are the direct descendent of the Venus 175 which Tianjin Sea-Gull bought from Venus to put into the original 1963 Air Force watch. Very cool!
I used to be Sea-Gull Canada so I can chat with you about Sea-Gull until the cows come home.
While this is not a Sea-Gull it does have a Sea-Gull ST8000 movement in it. One day I would like to buy a dual Tourbillon Sea-Gull. :P
Not sure what you guys think of an affordable Tourbillon. Is that an oxymoron?
