Ulysse Nardin Basel 2013 Pre View: The Black Sea.

This year, we have basically the same watch, but with some luminous blue indexes.
The case in in stainless steel, with a coating of vulcanized rubber. Rubber is also used for the strap, by the way, as well as for the crown, which is screwed.
The diameter is huge ( 45, 8 mm ), and the watch is water resistant to 200 meters.
It houses an automatic movement, as it is very à propos for a diving watch, with a power reserve of 42 hours.
For those who doubt that rubber is the best material for the case of a diving watch, Marcus, in his article, tested it in extrem conditions, and the outcome was convincing.
Here is the new beast, I meant, the new Black Sea:
I am not a big fan of black watches, to say all, but for those who are, it may be a tempting offer.
My second reserve is the presence of the date... Without, I think it would definitely convince me, even with its black case.
But well, not everybody is as stubborn as I am, hopefully for the watch industry!

Date is a handy complication to have
but in a real world diving watch it is 100% useless. If one needs to know the date in the middle of the dive, it's much better to stay on dry land.

Agreed. That is my problem with dates on diving watches. I don't see the interest.

...Tried the Blue Sea recently and absolutely loved it 
I enjoyed the little waves across the dial and thought the finishing was excellent --> on the list it goes!

Nice black series from UN.
I've seen it with blue, red, orange and green accents, and they look fantastic. A very nice and different alternative for a sport watch related to yachting, or not.
The green one is my fav, pity they are too big for me.

Yes, I would like to see those with a 2mm smaller case, too.
But there are the Blue Wave for us, in a normal stainless steel case.
