Thanks Nicolas for sharing these pictures. I am born in the year of the horse (turning 36 this year) so am keeping a lookout for special dials with horses this year.

The effect seems much much better than the older photo that I posted

These new photos show 3D effect of the horses and match the details closer to what we have seen for the Dragon and Snake

Interesting that UN is using a blue strap for a rose case in order to match the background color of the enamel dial

... both Western and Chinese collectors like horses and what they represent

There is a Chinese saying of “马到功成“= "When the Horse arrives, success is achieved"

I know for a fact that 3 collectors have received allocations for the Horse at this point

... which are, unfortunately, but logically, not disclosed. Personally, I think the other motifs are so impressively transformed into enamel pictures that Western collectors would not really exclude them from their list only due to their Asian dial design. Btw, just a moment ago my wife looked over my shoulder and saw the Serpent pictures of yours. She was absolutely fascinated by it and clearly stated that she would never consider it an Aisan design; unlike the dragon, where is a large difference between Eastern and Western dragons. "Ours" have wings and are more compact, like Smaug in Tolkien's Hobbit:



- and of course they are greedy and guarding their hoards.

I think a Western dragon would also be a nice motif for a UN enamel dial, wouldn't it?

...are not as "productive" as the Asian Dragons because Asian Dragons do not require wings to fly !!  Asian ones just leap and fly naturally !!

In terms of my prediction that Horse sells better than Serpent, my belief is based on feedback of my previous posts, talking to my AD (who told me walk-in and existing customers bought the Dragon but he had no requests for the Serpent but now have orders for the Horse).  Just like in poker, I would go "All-in" that Horse sells better than Serpent.

Thanks for your wife's feedback.  It is interesting that a female finds the Serpent intriguing.  Well, you know what you might get her for your birthday gift then !! 

... getting her a "sperpent" for birthday. Besides the prohibitive cost aspect, her way of wearing watches is barely compatible with the character of this fine timepiece. Working in radiology during the day, she has to wash her hands with soap and disinfective solvent after each patient, make that roughly 80 to 100 times per day. After that, she spends her time outdoors, doing dogs sports, with lots of mud, sweat and dog slobber. Her "finest" watch is a UN Dual Time, but already that one suffers, mostly the leather strap. Unfortunately, there is no rubber strap available that matches the honey yellow dial.

This might also explain why she is so intrigued about the "Serpent". She studied zoology for many years, and loves all animals, especially those with a bad reputation: spiders, snakes, hyaenae, and so on. So her appreciation for the "Serpent" might not permit concluding for the majority opinion.
