I'm curious of owners as I've not yet waded into the VC owner club, but I am curious what you feel VC excels in compared to modern rivals like PP, ALS and AP, and where they pale in comparison? Is there something you wish VC would do more of or return to?
Was the great blue lacquer dial and I also appreciated the finishing of the bracelet and geneva seal approval of the movement. Their brushing and polishing method seems different from at least AP and its Royal Oak.
how far they venture out in their designs. The have an incredibly wide range and the courage to do things like the 1921 or the Quai de l‘Ile or the Harmony lines. All this combined with a level of execution that is on par with the peers you mentioned.
But i can pick VC out of the rival list you called. VC and Audemars getting my priority. VC more than Audemars because VC have more models to choose from. A lot of types Royal Oak which much of them are off shores is different than the elegant Heritage Americana 21 ones, Patrimonies, Quai’s, fifty six’s, and fabulous Twin Beats.
VC get my priority as it comes closest to my core love for watches. But an AP Royal Oak is nice too, albeit an Overseas will always be my first choice for a sports integrated.
In the last 20-30 years, VC has made a large variety of designs which are usually quite refined and elegant. Since the introduction of their contemporary Geneva seal movements, they uphold a long tradition of movement decoration with newly engineered calibers. This combination of refinement, elegance, decoration, and quality is the basis of the appeal of modern VC.
I only have a quai de l’ile. Got it by selling all my other watches plus a basketball and cash lol. No regrets. It is worth every penny. Refinement, style, consistency even on their “basic” model. It’s geneva sealed movement and case. VC is known for more than just one model. I am on my path to be a one watch guy so far.
They will make you ANYTHING if you’re willing to pay for it!

Not very well known or advertised but VC will gladly construct a one-off super duper complication of your dreams and specifications if you are willing to pay the price.
Do your googles on the 57260 for example.🚨Spoiler alert: the 57 refers to how many complications the commissioner requested 😉
I always thought of VC as the more understated maison in the world of high horology, combining movement expertise, finishing and design. In short, it’s the combination of cartier design and jlc movement plus patek finishing. Definitely pure and non-hype.
in general i love the fact that they are not as much as patek and AP in the spotlight... I like the fact to own something that mainly afficionados know what it is
I loved the refinement and overall class of their watches. Have a 2nd gen overseas chrono (current when I bought it) and think that the 3rd is probably even nicer. At that time, well, it still is, the nautilus was out of my price range and the RO, while nice, didn’t have the same appeal to me. Not to mention it only has 50m wr and was more well known. VC tend to fly under the radar more, which can be a nice bonus.
