Vacheron Constantin

Hi All,

New to the forum, and figured I would inquire here to see if anyone had some wrist shots of the Malte Dual Time Regulators in both WG and YG.  I currently own a Overseas Auto w/ white dial in SS, but need a nice dual time watch, and figured the MDTR would be a good way to go.  None of the AD's around me have these versions, so I wanted to get a better feel for how they look on a wrist.  Couple of questions;

1. What is the base movement in this model?

2. What are the overall dimensions of the watch, and how does it wear (big or small)?

3. What are your overall opinions, experiences, and insights into this watch?

Beautiful pics of a beautiful watch.  Just went today to the AD, and fell in love with the WG version.  So, I decided to drop the scratch and pick this beauty up.  The detail of the dial and the ornate lugs just really appeal to me.  This watch is versatile in my opinion and can be dressed up or down.  Also, the movement behind the hunter case back is extremely well finished ,and shows just how wonderful the work of the great house of Vacheron truly is. 

My friend who brought me up in the watch world once owned a VC Overseas Auto white dial, and I really just dug that watch.  I remember thinking and eventually telling him that one day I would like to own that piece.  Actually, that watch and the story behind Vacheron's illustrious history as the oldest watch manufacturer, prompted me to begin collecting watches.  Well, eventually became reality, and I bought the Overseas white dial just last year. 

I am really excitied about adding my second VC to my collection, and as Im sure you all know cant wait to get out and wear it!!!

I'm very glad to know that you finally decided to add to your colelction the watch, which I'm sure will bring you a lot of good times and satisfaction. It's a great piece!

I myself own an Overseas Chronometer (which is to say, the Old Style one), while dial, which gains a lots of wrist time during hot summer days. I'm very happy with it. And I'm looking to expand my collection on Overseas line. Well, I know someone who has already three Overseas and still in pursuing of more.

Don't forget to post some pictures (who not wristshots) when your new baby arrives!

Hi Scott,

Like you and Jian, I also own an Overseas (old chronograph with black dial) and it is also seeing a lot more wrist time now that its Summer here in Japan.

The dual time regulator is definitely a watch you do not see everyday, and never fails to put a smile on my face whenever I come across one.

Congratulations on your new VC, Scott. I agree that the Malte DTR is a versatile watch (just like that Overseas). Wear it in good health!

I think I am done watch shopping for the near future, however my fiancee who is now starting to gain interest in watches (to my demise), has taken a keen liking to the ladies open worked malte.  I am hoping it is just a passing interest, or I might have to start selling my organs on the black market.  I am hoping to get some photos together in the near future, but in the mean time I am really enjoying the forum.

Hi Scott,

I owned a VC Malte Dual Time Regulator in Pink Gold. Its quite nice. Why dont you try it on at your AD.
