My local authorized dealer ordered an Overseas Dual Time with the silvered dial in December 2007. Next week will be 5 months since the special order was placed (with a hefty deposit). I've spoken with the VC concierge in NYC several times. He's quite cordial but unable to advise when i might finally receive the watch. Has anyone had a similar experience or know what the typical lead time is? Thanks.

for a pretty basic watch in VC's collection. Perhaps demand is great (Is anyone else out there experiences such a delay between deposit and delivery?). Rather than talk to the VC concierge, I would harrass your AD, who has access to the sales rep, the person best able to answer when the watch will arrive.

If the dealer is not looking out for you then you may wish to consider calling other dealers  to see if they have the watch in stock.

The two occasions when I had an AD order a VC for me, I had the watch withing 2 weeks.  I can't imagine what would take so long for the delivery of a standard production model.

My AD here in Asia has all 4 in stock, black and silver dual time as well as chronograph.  Having said that, he only displayed them AFTER the May 1 price increase here in Asia... Not sure if VC has gone through a price increase in US (like PP did) as well.

However, having said the above, I have always been told that the dual time is always out of stock as it is in great demand.  I was lucky to walk into my AD and bought one off the shelf mid last year.
