Vacheron Constantin

I had lunch with my friend yesterday.  Let's just say we had a lot of fun.

 

There is an "intruder" in the watchbox above, but we will allow it because it is such a great watch and the only one that can make some noise if we object. And by the way, I had never seen a 47100 in the metal before. It is magnificent!

 

I think this one looks really good on my wrist. Joe, did you check your watch box when you got home?   ;-)

 

I'm so hungry right now I think I'd take a New York strip steak over the platinum Historiques Chronographs!

I'll be having lunch next Monday with a gentleman who happens to have a rose gold VC with enamel dial with a red twelve.

with salmon dials are superb. Never saw them in the metal, but would Love to.

It was nice buti wanted to try the back for a while.  Buti really like your dea of gray. Does VC have one as standard?

Didn't we have a Wrist Scan theme a couple of weeks ago on "Someone else's watch, somone else's wrist?" 

I am not a big fan of the Saltarello, but the Salmon Choron is very my taste... As well as this superb Anniversary.

A watch I would well see in your collection, Respo... Yes!

...about Lange and many other things.  This Anniversary was a pleasant revelation for me.

As for Lange, there are a few marvels in the collection of this german brand.

The Anniversary is one of them, for sure!

Robert, you tease ;-)  How 'bout some close-ups of that skeleton back there?  Also, the back side of a Saltarello is equal to the face!  Wonderful line-up, I hope you finished your plate.

I did not take enough photos.  I was a bit overwhelmed by the watches that I was not planning the photography carefully.  In fact, the restaurant was relatively empty when we sat down.  We talked and looked at watches for a good hour before we ordered by which time the restaurant had filled up.  We created a little bit of scene taking the photos. Oh, well.

... because there is a lot to enjoy there. The Saltarello is great to see. Horology can get boring without these sorts of watches to spice things up. The salt on the meal to transform the bland to the exciting.

I had a few other pics of the back but I didn't have the time to dig them out.
And you are correct...the Saltarello and Historique Chrono are part of my own collection (as is a Mercator, Francois). But the skeleton chrono WAS part of the collection as well.

Of a Merctor....

There is no match, here, the Saltarello has a much nicer rotor than the Mercator... My only issue on this watch, by the way...

I adore the 1955 , what a fantastic and subtile watch.  The pink Saltarello and the salmon chronograph are also amongst my favorite Vacheron. Dial and cases are wonderful with perfect proportions.

Add a Mercator and an excellence Platine Chrono Perpetual and you have my top 5 VC watch of the 20 last years... and with a QDI sneaking in... The Lange Anniversary is already an icon.

What a fantastic selection of watches, men of great taste here !
