Vacheron Constantin

Disagree :)

thanks for posting this beautiful watch!
I disagree about the red, I think with a light brown croco strap (or burgundy color one), the red accents on the dial would look amazing!! wink

Drooling over this one!

We don't disagree that much, since I confessed I changed my mind.

At the beginning, yes, I was shocked, now I find this Chrono very appealing. Not much disturbed by the Red.

And yes, that is a Chrono I would love to add in my collection!

wink

Best, S!

Nicolas

Respectfully also disagree :)

I think the red accents work very well (similar to the Purists LUC Chrono!), I am definitely a fan!!

That doesn't stop me loving it. ;) [nt]

This Malte Chrono is a killer!

 By: respo : June 4th, 2014-05:43

I believe it is in the same shop whence came a certain Prestige de la France, no?  ;-)

I love this version of the Malte Chrono, and honestly, if I did not already have my Overseas US Edition, with the similar color scheme and size within 1mm of each other, I would be hunting that special Malte Chronograph. The movement in the Malte, however, is not to be outdone.

Thanks fro sharing some photos of a wonderful Vacheron Constantin that we do not often get to see.

Best,

respo

Yes. You could also consider it, since it is totally different from the Overseas. ;) [nt]

Ha! Always helpful with your suggestions. ;-)

But I need to a little more diversity within my small collection than to have both of these red and black chromos -- unless I decided to make that a theme.  Hmmmm.....

Of course the Malte Chronograph for you, respo, is....

The EP:

Bill

That is a superb version. Which I consider, when I have the funds...

 By: amanico : June 4th, 2014-09:18

This dial is to die for, even if I would have preferred without the wording " Pt 950 " on the dial...

But that doesn't annoy me too much.

Best,

Nicolas

great one

You got that right, Bill!

You know me too well.  ;-)  That is exactly the version I would want.  Maybe someday...

I have a somewhat funny story about that watch.  It turns out that a friend of mine owns one, and I first saw his watch before we had ever met at an event hosted by Vacheron Constantin North America a few years ago.  I saw the EP Malte Chronograph from halfway across the crowded room.  I recognized the watch instantly and had no idea on whose wrist it was. But I made a bee line across the room to introduce myself to the watch..errrr... gentleman wearing it.  I guess if I had not an idea by then how much of a problem I have, I recognized it in that moment.  ;-)   It is a stunning watch, and it never fails to make my heart skip a beat whenever I see it.

Best,

respo

something dissonant about this piece

Perhaps the combo of sporting dial with classic case shape; the combination seems novel in the extreme.  I'm equally confused by this model...

Malte US Special Edition

Malte US Special Edition

Yes, dissonant and, in consequence, disturbing.

The blend of sportiness and elegance... Which surprises first.

But we have seen worse!

Best,

Nicolas.

It is a watch with character

I like the idea to propose a clear alternative to the usual style for this type of watch. At least this LE brings something different. It is the reason why I like this watch.

Thanks for the pics & presentation.

I hear you. Which made me re view my first feelings on this watch.

Coolness?

Best,

Nicolas.

Classic yet sporty looking

This is such a rare VC chronograph that I can't complain! I love its black dial and red accents. The only thing that didn't speak to me so much (to be honest here) is the numerals. I think indices would look cleaner?

Thanks for sharing this rare bird Nicolas! You always have photos of these rare watches! smile

Cheers
robin

I don't know, maybe without these numerals, the dial would look a bit too empty?

Thanks for your feedback, my friend!

Best,

Nicolas.
