Hi,
I find this watch to be 40 mm of elegance and purity!
The case is 6.79 mm thick.
The Pink Gold case adds a lot of class and the grey dial gives the watch bit of edge.
The dial is not grey-grey... It is more dark grey with warm tone in it.
Must say I really like what I see!
Closed case back so you can't see, but inside is caliber 1400 bearing the Geneva Seal.
Normally when a really nice finished manual movement is inside I prefer an open case back...
Here I am torn - the case is 40 mm in diameter but the caliber 1400 is only 20.65 mm and 2.60 mm thick.
So it is a quite small movement for this case.
But then again, once on the wrist I forget all about the movement size....

We had a lunch GTG to look at a grey dial 81180
whl, MB, Respo, Gary and I met. Besides great conversation were great VC. The plat 81180p grey was brought by Bill. We discussed that watch vs the current platinum traditionelle. respo and I ended up wanting the Trad and instead Respo got the EP 81180 and I got the 43150 EP. The 81180p grey dial just does not seem to get attention out there. VC grey dials are gorgeous. I have not seen your version in RG in the metal. Looks gorgeous on your wrist!
The patrimony watch is thin, elegant, and very comfortable. The markers in the sunlight just absolutely pop.
I wish more people would sample this watch. It is a great value and tons of fun.

I have the Traditionelle in Platinum (82172) and your are so right about the markers - they really do pop in any light. I was very ambivalent about the grey until I saw it the metal... then I was hooked.
I tried the PT version a few days ago...
And it's a perfect dress watch. I was surprised too about the caseback but taking account the small diameter of the movement I think VC took the right decision.

I think they could have made an open case back if like on the Ultra-Fine 1955.
But that would have required complete change of the case...

I love VC's gray dials. I came oh so close to getting the gray dial platinum 81180 (Bill knows this from painful experience). I would have gotten it if another 81180 had not come along. ;-)
The combination of the colored gold and the gray dial is unusual, elegant and striking. I continue to feel that the 81180 is the perfect dress watch. I am wearing mine today, and every time I look down on my wrist, which is far more often that I need to to know the time, I am reminded of just how exquisite this watch is.

The VC Patrimony is one of my favorite dressier watches, in this exact combination, so elegant and timeless.
I prefer this one more than the 85180 automatic with date, the white date is really an eyesore for me.
If this one had a see through case back it would be very very high on my to get list. It's almost a waste to have the geneva seal and not showcase it
Must admit that even with the closed case back....
This is one of my favorite version of the Patrimony!
But I still don't have any VC in the Collection....
