I worked with them from their 3D tourbillion design, and they had Stefan Kudoke do the skeletonizing around the balance, which I wanted to be able to see from the front side. DJK
Richard and Maria are capable of very high finishing (and indeed, have shown such on some recent watches, like the TZ20). But their interests are in the long term function of their watches, and as such they maintain simple decorative finishes. That said, the finish on my watch is actually very good (not perfect), and clearly hand-finished. Considering the price of the watch and collaborative customization we produced, the level of finishing is quite high indeed. One must always consider decorative finishing relative to cost because of the time it takes. And, I might add, I won't take offense to your comment with regard to my watch or pictures. If there's something specific you'd like to note about my watch, do say so. Cheers, Daniel
Their work is great -- a totally different aesthetic, but totally compelling. I was in a well known Silicon Valley watch shop the other day looking at $600K Gruebel Forsey tourbillons and the guys there were oohing and aahing over my Habring2 double split chrono...
