The MB&F launched on 10 October reached the ADs on the same day (or even a few days before!!). The Cartier has been at boutiques for over a month now. Unlike some brands that launch their watches and do not make the watch readily available, it is refreshing to see that MB&F and Cartier are bucking the trend

I would love to own one of them in the near future 😉.

I think I can't go wrong with any of the three but the Gronefeld almost seems like the 'safe' bet among this trio!

I can remember several watch ladies who I've spend an inordinate amount of time talking to, in order to keep the watch on my wrist... but I'm not sure I'm that good a talker!

I have just arranged a trip to Paris to meet Mike H next month and also to meet the vivacious Ekaterina at Ekso to view the Remontoire and the last remaining Voutilainen 2 Eight. I shall be on my best behaviour and not chat up Ekaterina for 90 minutes as I have heard she has a jealous husband who is a lot larger than me!

The Gronefeld is 39.5mm, the Cartier's curved case disguises its 46mm length and the downward curving lugs of the 44mm MB&F help a lot. Saying that it is still 44mm which as most of you know is a size that I do not particularly subscribe to. But that dial does take my breath away!

I am actually quite surprised that the Cartier is doing better than the MB&F but yes, aesthetics and size are important to me.

I wish I was as decisive as you! The Gronefeld seems to be the popular choice so far.I purposely decided not to include a photo of its movement to make it more of a fair fight

I have just emailed Tim and Bart Gronefeld to enquire if they have a stainless steel Remontoire left

What a stunning watch. Has a bit more of a wow factor for me. Second would be the Gronefeld followed by a very distant (sorry) MB&F. Second time is not a charm.

Yes the Cartier would not normally be a watch I would consider that this in my opinion is one of the most special Cartier watches for a long time in that it still remain wearable despite the movement complexity. I used to adore Cartier watches on the 80s and 90s but I felt they had lost their way a little with rather large size watches lately. I am most pleased that Cartier has somewhat changed its direction with this Tank Cintree. In addition, the new tank in a



more wearable size spotting a manual movement (see pic below) is what Cartier really needs.

....on your complexion and wrist size but that's just my opinion. Beautiful watch but at 67k(PT) no complication, you can get so much more. Since you have time on your hand, try Moser and Laurent Ferrier too. I wudnt bother too much with ltd edition qualifications.

Thank you for your observations. Yes, I agree that the rose gold Remontoire will suit my skin colour well but the steel is the cheaper option for the pensioner. Then again, I agree that one must get the metal right when ordering a watch and not to save only to regret it later. Yes the Cartier is relatively expensive for a watch without a complication although the skeleton dial is arguably a complication on its own. I already own a Moser with a fume dial and am not too keen on the Laurent Ferrier because it is an automatic movement (admittedly a beautifully finished movement) and I prefer a manual winding watch.

Thank you for your choice. I personally prefer their plain silver dial as in the photos due to its understatedness. The movement is just the opposite
