Even if it’s a rectangle, it’s far away from inside the box - the Vianney Halter Trio
Last summer a couple of us have had the fantastic opportunity to visit several independents in Switzerland, including the wild and eccentric - at least as far as his watches go - Vianney Halter.
Fortunately he had quite some of his collection from the past years in-house, allowing for a candy store atmosphere for us visitors 
While none of his watches can be described as fully conventional, the Trio is definitely not the one coming closest to the description, either

That was a pure pleasure to meet Vianney and to try to understand how he thinks and makes his incredible creations
Sometimes, the word “artist” is hackneyed especially in the horology world but here, with him, definitely not! He’s an artist watchmaker.

It's always a nice sensation to play with the unusual.
I have strong feelings towards the Antiqua Perpetual, I would own a white gold one if I could.
This picture was taken eighteen years ago at Basel, I met most of the independents at that time, they were exhibiting together in a small booth on the first floor and they were quite accessible for questions and answers. I won't name any, but some were very kind, and some were not.

All VHs are special, but these three... to have that collection... that is something to aim at. They span science fiction from Jules Verne to Gene Roddenberry!
Agree that this combination is achingly beautiful. There is also one other — the platinum with silver dials — totally monochrome and absolutely stunning.
