Simple and accurate
Two days shy of having this on my wrist for a full month. Enjoying the simplicity and versatility of this Ochs. Very comfortable and legible and I think the comments I get from the non watch people and watch people alike is a lot more than the ‘normal’ watches I have.
As for accuracy, a very ‘simple and basic’ ETA 2824 - Ochs must have done some serious level of tuning on this one as it has only gained 9 seconds over the last 29 days. Besides my Grand Seiko and Omega SM300, I don’t have any other watch that runs at this level. I am impressed.
No kidneys or limbs sold for what I would term an amazing watch.

The dots correspond to each of the visible hour markers that make up 5 days. The current position of the red dot indicates today’s date which is the 19th

As in my initial post when I got this watch, I was thinking it might be my exit watch. Well, 29 days later, and I’m still thinking that. A good sign, maybe?

it looks amazing. I’m so happy to read about your user experience. I am planning a “date” for my self at the moment. I think it Has the most elegant basic layout of the lot even though I have an eye on the moon as well.
Can I ask how you, please, how easy you find it to read the dial with the six hour markers? Did you have to get used to it? I have thought if I should request an hour marker for each hour, even though it would probably be less beautiful. I would love to hear your opinion on this matter.

Actually, I don’t have much of an issue of getting used to reading the time with the 6 hour markers. It was definitely much easier than getting used to telling the date by a dot that kept moving 
Once the mind gets used to the markers and that the dots are the even minutes and the spaces the odd, it becomes quite natural.
The date indicator took me about 3 days to really get accustomed to, but now going into the one month period, it has almost become second nature

I'm sure Beat would agree to do it if you insisted...but it isn't such a good idea.
Having the hour markers at those 2 hour intervals divides the 30 days into fives - and it is this that makes reading the date so easy at a glance, once you're used to it (just as it once took some time to get used to an analogue watchface). You certainly won't have any issue with the hour markers where they are (it's easier than a watch with none at all ;-).
Don't forget the option to have a seconds disc, rather than a second hand if you prefer... along with all the other customisation options, and a sturgeon strap, and the annual calendar.

And the beauty of Ochs is that everything can be discussed with Beat, as you say. My sturgeon strap is arriving in two days and from what I hear it will be the only strap I’ll need

I’m really on the fence with the second hand. I met with Beat and he showed me the seconds disk. It is such a cool and original feature. On the other hand I am a big fan of central seconds. I don’t like two handed watches because the feel “dead” to me. It will be one of the last details I decide on.

Definitely leaps and bounds better than the +5.1 sec daily and at less than 20% of the cost....plus this can really take a beating...from off roading to the badminton courts and the pool.

GBP4,500 for this "simple ETA 2824" is a lot of money. Attractive as the O&J is, there's a queue of good watches for less. [nt]

That is very true...
...but the value here is not only a very well built and accurate watch, it is also something that is customised individually and not something you’ll see on the wrists of others in the same room, and for me, that it is not recognisable. The icing is really the experience of dealing directly with the owners of the brand and getting that very personal touch in ensuring the watch, from the colours of the dial and hands and the type of strap is exactly what I want.

With an endless amount of color combinations made available, I can see how things could go wrong if not careful. Here we see a perfect example of a beautifully executed O&J... very well done!
