A very special watch from o&j, with blued / heated titanium case & dial. Beat patiently explained that the heated titanium process is an in-exact science and the result is unpredictable... Just love it...

I have the dual time, myself, but if I had known this was an option, I would have probably gone this route. I was torn between the moon phase and the dual time when decided if which one to go with. At the time, I don’t have a GMT or world time in my modest collection, so I chose the dual time.

Definitely like the fact that more heat blued titanium is making its way into watch making. DeBethune is famous for it, of course but others, such as Ming Watches have also started experimenting with it. And you have had it for a while in the automotive sector (exhausts, for instance).

ochs und junior offers really great possibilities to create bespoke watches, far beyond the configurator with its already many choices
When I had my Dual Time - Moonphase created a couple of years ago, I worked only with colours respectively paint. Your choice of colouring by taking advantage of material properties and possible treatments is much more sofisticated. Gratulations!

After reviewing this post, I reached out to Beat, at ochs und junior, about commissioning a custom built sturgeon leather strap for my Sarpaneva. He is a delight to interact with and is willing to do the blued titanium hardware for the strap buckle. He even states the process is not an exact science, an excerpt from an email exchange: "...If you like to have it heat blue – we have to do this in different steps by hand and the result will be artistically and not 100% even..." Very cool!
