What I like in the Gronefeld is the fact their dial is clean crisp and balanced Hulst the UN dial is but too busy
The date indicator on the UN for instance doesnât seem to be in balance and I would prefer it without a date indicator.
Nothing against UN but doesnât come close to Gronefeld

Happy new year to all Purists with my first Indie
My last post of 2019 with my first watch of 2019, the Gronefeld 1941 Principia. This is the watch that kickstarted 2019 for me. It is my first independent piece and one of my biggest purchase in this hobby. I am glad that the love for it is still as strong as the day I first brought it home!

I am enjoying this piece tremendously and like what you said, it will definitely enjoy alot of wrist time this year too. I am seriously leaning towards Independents, the mainstream brands doesnât appeal to me much nowadays.

UN have some nice watches in their collection although I personally prefer their more outlandish design like the Freak collection

Yes itâs definitely a watch which vies for your wrist time every day. IMHO it might be the perfect daily dress/casual watch. I am sure you are enjoying yours tremendously too!

even though I have to sell one of my favourite piece to fund something. I added three pieces to my collection which I absolutely love, two of which are indies
