Although I am a big fan of independents, maybe it would have helped Parmigiani to join forces with a luxury group. I think it’s not for the watches that Parmigiani never got the attention they deserve. More their marketing muscle and distribution network.
I have been a HUGE fan of Parmigiani for many years and agree with you on several points...

but I don't think partnering with a group would solve their problem. If you looks at various brands from the Swatch group (Blancpain, Glashutte Original, etc...) or Richemont (JLC, etc...), they also do not get the recognition they deserve. Although several of those mentioned are loved by collectors and connoisseurs, the general public does not even notice them.
Where I do agree with you is their distribution network and marketing. Due to the fact that they are also a foundation like Rolex, owned by the Sandoz foundation, they don't need to answer to any shareholders. The Sandoz foundation is backed by a TON of money so it is no excuse that Parmigiani could not do better than what it does now. I have my own theories about this but that is another discussion altogether.
Let's just hope that the brand does something about this lack of presence and that more people will see what a tremendously capable manufacturer they really are. For me, they are the Independent equivalent of JLC, of course with less history. I would also include Moser in the same conversation as Parmigiani but the 2 seem to have different visions and marketing campaigns 🤷♂️
It‘s true that also the luxury group‘s brands sometimes face the same problem.
On the positive side, let us enjoy their great watches. How about sharing our Parmigianis with the forum? Maybe some other fans will chime in. Are you in?
Sounds good to me. I only have 2 in my collection but my Kalpa Hebdomadaire is in a bank safe in the US...

So I only have my Transforma Rivage in carbon fiber & titanium with me which I have posted prior.
Would be happy to post it more anytime. And once we get pass the COVID-19 situation and we are allowed to travel again, I could post photos of the Hebdomadaire once I get a chance to retrieve it from the bank 😉
Ok Daniel, I will paste a link to my post below and a couple photos I took of it last year when my wife and I were in Crete...

And here is a link to my previous post with this Transforma Rivage where you can see other photos and a YouTube video explaining the watch if you read through the thread 😉👍
Thanks for sharing, Champ! I think the greatest achievement of this watch is not that it can be used in those different setups, but that it actually works very well, both from a usability and from an esthetic point of view.
The Transforma captures very well the creativity and the high-end execution of Parmigiani. Huge congratulations on this rare beauty, Champ!
Thanks Daniel and I agree completely. I actually have 2 of these Transforma Rivage special editions...

one I wear (this one) and the other which is kept as a set as it was signed by both Michel Parmigiani and Bernard Stamm, of whom this watch was originally made 😁
