Ofcourse the Tourbillon is a marvel but with a very high price tag too . That
guilloche dial looks so beautiful with that blue outer ring . Reminds me of the Db Digital

I find the standard DB28 collection more appealing (which is just a matter of personal taste). But for a brand that is as bold and innovative as De Bethune, I am underwhelmed by the lack of ambition for their 10th anniversary.
Is it just me?

for the 10th Anniversary of a watch De Bethune cut the width of the watch of something more than 2mm while major players of the industry changed the color of a bezel for a 50th Anniversary model...

On the same side I know more than well that we’re talking about everyone’s taste so there’s not right or wrong opinion on this, so I appreciate a lot the fact you wanted to share with us yours which is more than appreciated

I didn‘t do my research before posting my reply. I was completely unaware that DB reduced the size and thickness of their DB28 anniversary. I merely responded after looking at the pics. So my initial reply isn‘t justified, and I actually welcome DB pursuing smaller watches. Especially with their DB28 masterpiece, which is very high on my hunt list.

My point is simply it doesn’t alter the overall aesthetics of the piece, it just reduces scale. I’m with Daniel on this one, I’m a little disappointed in this effort. I guess I expect de Bethune to be more creative. If they were doing a tenth anniversary piece, I’d just blow it out, something really creative, the next generation DB 28, that takes design cues from the original but then gives us a whole new take on the concept! They could have pushed it much further, instead we get a slight variation on a theme, much like most other manufacturers......

I understand your thoughts on how pieces marking an Anniversary should look like, something blowing our minds!!!

But De Bethune motto sounds like “Not doing More, but instead doing Better”, and that’s what they’re doing with the new DB28 XP

I struggle to think that launching a new slimmer caliber (which preserves all the innovations launched by the maison during last years), a redesigned case, slimmer as well, new ergonomics, a price tag lower than usual at least for the two non turbi versions, and some other goodies can be considered the same as switching the color of a bezel from black to green... obviously imho 🤔

We’ll see the test of time, in the meantime have a great week!!!

ordinary mortals, such as myself, generally rely on the hands to indicate the time of day it is.

the current house arrest and the increased alcohol consumption I read lugs instead of hands... don’t ask me why... I’ve no clue... 🤔

This said, I can empathize with you on the fact DB could have designed different hands for these beauties... you are right, nevertheless I don’t find them so nasty, a bit plain yes...
