still waiting on the linesport but was thinking of consolidating to a handful of pieces. currently have a steel principia and thought that would make a great duo with the linesport. other thought was to order a voutilainen. any opinions? I thought the principia was a lot for a 3 hander..... but I remember seeing voutilainen in the wristwatch annual like 15 years ago when I knew nothing of watches and loving it. but it's also a ton of money. do love the idea of ordering a custom watch from one of the greatest watchmakers of our time.
a Voutilainen is one of the best watches money can buy - the movement finishing and architecture is only matched by the beauty of the dials. And Kari is quite flexible with the case size too. Yes it costs a lot but a Kari is a keeper.
I really love the Principia but a KV is also very high on my wishlist. I am also thinking about consolidating my collection at some point and try to find a few masterpieces like KV or RG to add so I have a handful of amazing watches that i will wear as much as possible.
I got my first Voutilainen lately and it is just spectacular... and highly addictive. I am hoping for some customized pieces from Kari, but I hear his manufacture has gotten incredibly busy (3+ years for delivery).
If you’re looking for a watch to keep for a lifetime then KV is the way to go. He’s a pleasure to work with - nothing is too much trouble - and he epitomizes “hand made”.

If you think that you may eventually “sell on” then Journe or Grönefeld would likely be the better option. I don’t have either, but they will likely have better resale value and their pieces are at the more commercialized end of the independent spectrum and ride the Instagram wave more than Voutilainen. Free advice - and probably worth what it costs😉
