The Case for Gauthier
A lot of praise is dutifully bestowed upon the movement of the Logical One, but I find the case impressive in its own right. The lines and contours are breathtaking. I’ve often felt like modern watchmakers spend too much of their attention on movements at the expense of cases. Many cases are bland in the modern watchmaking scene. The Logical One is a notable exception.

Yes, cases and buckles could use more attention. Most manufacturers are guilty of overlooking these components. Not so with your RG!
Interesting observation but disagree. There are an enormous variety of case shapes and details, and levels of quality in the way they’re delivered.
That means circular, tonneau, cushion, ellipsocurvex, square, TV, rectangular, etc. It means knurled, gadrooned, coin-edged, faceted, etc. It means brushed and/or high-polished; and it means lugs of infinite variety. It means hand-wrought or machined. It means German austerity, Swiss frivolity, etc.
Such is the variety of casework that it’s clear that watchmakers think and approach them in a way that’s on par with the other parts of a watch, even if media and buyers don’t. The reasons for this is obvious from both an engineering and artistic point of view: they’re working on both overall structural integrity and intimate sensory experience through design. In this respect the Logical One isn’t a notable exception. It’s just a fine example from a very diverse field.

Yes, I agree. Case design is a much neglected area in modern watches. Here, both Cozmopak's and Nico's are examples of excellence far higher than most.
