TEASER

Last Thursday I was able to get my brand new but nevertheless defective Rolex GMT II back from my beloved AD (it had a problem just three months after I bought it, but that's another story in another forum)). The problem was solved perfectly and extremely fast. Top service!!! I think a competent AD like mine (Bucherer Vienna) can't do better. Especially their master watchmakers are great. I don't normally do this kind of marketing in this forum. But here I have to!

And then …. I was shown something that hit me like a bolt of lightning. It had been delivered half an hour before and the whole staff in the shop was admiring it.
I fell in love immediately and pretty quickly (after about 15 minutes) did something veeeery "unreasonable".

But it makes me happy. Very happy.

I have rarely seen anything like this that immediately convinced me so much (concept, unusual, very "special" look, philosophy behind, workmanship, technical sophistication). Probably an absolute "minority program", especially the design. In any case completely off the beaten track. I'll report more about that later.

All the best, my dear watch friends
Thomas

Ok… ☺️: PF is definitely not it!

I like and appreciate PF very much. This brand is high on my wish list and I will definitely buy one at some point.

PF is perhaps a little more off the beaten track (if you look at the usual suspects), but still not far enough off the beaten track. 😁

Ok, but that doesn't say what it is... :)

It has a mechanism where rotational motion (and torque) is translated into linear motion.

I absolutely love this translation in kinematics which is prominently shown on the display.

Thomas, based on your description, I think you must have purchased a…

with your GMT II  were sorted out rapidly and professionally.

The retrograde mechanism uses a long lever arm to make the hour indication appear to move in a straight line.

I keep you in suspense this way but I had no chance to make some good photos yet.

I am currently only using excerpts from press photos.

As far as I know the watches are produced in Schaffhausen in the meantime. The brand was founded in Neuchâtel.

In total there are only 200 pieces per year. Mine will only be produced 28 times.

I forgive you 😀

The pictures so far look very interesting.

Is there a rotor I am seeing?

 By: amanico : April 28th, 2024-17:13

Yes, dear Nico.

 By: MTR : April 28th, 2024-18:58
There is a rotor at the backside.

And at 6 there’s a Tourbillon which you also can see on the front side.
I know you are not a big fan of showing a Tourbillon on the frontside and making a hole in the dial. But here it’s perfect (at least for me). ☺️

Agreed on the Tourbillon on the backside.
