Before one picks a trinity, one first needs to decide on criteria for consideration. Otherwise, this exercise is futile.
And these criteria will have to be cumulative and need to be objective and measurable. So, for example, every contestant must:
(i) have an uninterrupted existence of x years;
(ii) manufacture at least x number of watches per year;
(iii) verifiably spend x-hundred hours per watch on finishing components resulting in at least [Geneva Seal eligibility];
(iv) have designed and manufactured at least x number of movements inhouse, including the following: chronograph, perpetual calendar;
(v) have average service turnaround times of no more than 3 months;
(vi) other factors…
So you’ll find it won’t be easy to come up with a definitive list of requirements.

AP, PP and VC play their own personal league, then there are other realities, like those historical like GP and UN whose fate and path is still blurry, just to mention few names.
We all have our own preferences, for some it's design and crazy movements, for other it's classic shape and superb finishing.

I appreciate your enthusiasm! But it takes a little more than enthusiasm in developing a whole new category.
The contributions of each of those brands are significant. But... There are too many buts.

I really just don't get it.
Why do we need to be told or collectively decide who makes the best watches? I thought the whole point of being a watch collector was having a passion and desire for what pleases each of us the most irrespective of the opinions of others. I for one am not a sheep and will buy whatever I like the most and that gives me pleasure and joy to wear and look at and could care less about what anyone else thinks about my choices.

100% Agree Marc, who in the 1960 *****decided the 'Holy Trinity' for us*****. There was no vote.
Does anyone actually know who chose those three, and why they were chosen? Anyone at all know? Obviously whomever did, and why, has little (if any) relevance ~60 years later. Looking forward to a 2025 update, as am sure we can agree it is long overdue.
