the high grade HAAS & Cie. watches
produced for some years in the 1990s ?
I am especially interested which movements
they had used (FP?), produced quantities and if

Hi,
I am familar with Haas Neveux, which made very high grade movements/watches in the very late 1800's through the 1930's. Apparently the brand has been revived in name, but from what I saw on their website, I'd say they are of a different philosophy now. I didn't look through the entire online catalog, but what I did see was a lot of Ronda movements and prices under $150.00.
So, while I don't really know anything about the new company Hass & Cie, I think it is safe to say they aren't using any Fr?d?ric Piguet movements.

Can't help with your question, unfortunately. I have seen one in pics only. A nice watch but I believe it had a solid back so I wasn't able to judge the movement (but it was indeed Piguet based).

The new "cheap" Haas & Cie watches are sold by "SWC" (SAMSUNG WATCH CORP., the "S" certainly does not stand for "Swiss"). In their advertising material, they try to whip up a some romance about the history of the classic name and to (inappropriately) make a connection to the old company, Haas Neveux & Cie, which was one of the true crown jewels of the Swiss watch industry during the "classic" period. "Neveux", however, is now thankfully absent from their name!
It is very unfortunate this glorious name is now used for cheap stuff -"sic transit gloria mundi". Lucky watch collectors, however, who have a genuine classic "Haas Neveux & Cie" watch will nevertheless continue to enjoy and to prize it. The impostor will be forgotten soon.

I jsut happen to buy a Haas & Cie watch ebcause it was on sale.. I just want to know more about it. It has got a logo HNC witht his deer or something. It says Hass & Cie Swiss 1848 (HNC with Logo) and KHC 220. I am not familiar with the brand but you guys could probably give me more info on this. It was a good bargain and they said they were on clearance sale.
