. . . obviously, can anyone shed light on the Potter patented detent escapement? It looks like there's some kind of funky arm coming off the detent with, uh, maybe the passing spring mounted on it???

Maybe someone has more detail, but this extra arm is part of his re-disign of the detent escapement to make it self starting so it would be more usable for wearing.
Anyway it is considerably different than the escapement found in this "beater"
"only" a swiss lever but fantastic finish and I love the layout. Extremely open construction highlights each component.

There are more Potter's in this collection than these 3. Perhaps if you badger The Crown Prince enough he will post more pics of the group and give us more backround on Potter.
