Why a bra? Cos like the HM2, the inner workings of the movement of a woman is dictated by her biological clock, tic tock tic tock... Obviously the moonphase is very representative of her inner workings too (ahem, ladies, no pun intended). So what is more representative of both the ladies and the HM2? IMDHO, the bra. And usually ladies are more demanding of their male counterparts to be on time!

But oh wait, its gets more dangerous, they can shoot back too! Just like the fembots in Austin Powers! They are so pretty and makes you drool cos you want them (by the way, I mean the watch) but the danger shows when your wallet is their target!

What's more complicated than a movement? A woman cos we stupid males can never guess how their 'movements' function, so thank god we can at least master one form here in a watch movement.

So, let me to propose you the idea of very interesting adventure. Possibly the most Grandeous in Your life.

 

One of the often associations to Machine №2 are two hemispheres of the planet Earth. And all who thought such may be right. But only on one half. As the watch case is both the guard of MAIN SECRET OF THE WORLD and one of the clues to it. MB&F team securely hidden the cornerstone of the Universe by encrypting it to the movement design ( Oh…,do not thought they made this alone. Absolutely  alone ?... ).

 

What is known about such ancient monuments as pyramids and megalits, their  geographic location , interactions ?

Lets look only on the main monuments : the Egyptian and Mexican pyramids, Easter Island and   Stonehenge. At first glance they scattered haphazard on our planet. But if to include in the study the Tibetan complex of pyramids, it appears strict mathematical system of their location on the Earth's surface.

In particular, if the main pyramid of Tibet - Mount Kailas h axis hold the opposite end of the globe, the axis will tell exactly ... Easter Island with its mysterious Stone Giants .
If to join meridian pyramidal Mount Kailash with the Egyptian pyramids, the continuation of this line again, on Easter Island, a distance of Kailash before the Egyptian pyramids is exactly one quarter of the meridional line Kailash -  Easter Island .

But this is not all. If Easter Island to connect with Mexican pyramids, the continuation of this line  displays at Mount Kailash, and the distance from Easter Island to Mexican pyramids,  is exactly one quarter of the meridional line  Kailash - Easter Island.

 

Thus, the distances from the Tibetan to Egyptian pyramids and from Easter Island to Mexican pyramids are the same.

 

Will go dipper. If to connect by line the Kailash with Stonehenge monument, the continuation of this line again, displays on Easter Island. A distance from Kailash to Stonehenge is exactly one-third of the meridional line Kailash – Easter Island. And if on this line (Kailash – Easter Island) to defer one-third of the distance from Easter Island there will be the Bermuda Triangle.  What  monument with power possibilities to change time , bend space sank to antiquity in this area?  Possibly the silent Giants from small island on the opposite side of Tibetan pyramids know ?

We may only guess…

 

And even all this explained above is only a half , as the other hemisphere may hide the mirror pyramids on the dark deeps of the World Ocean.

In 1899 the US Commissioner for Patents, Charles H. Duell, is reported to have said “Everything that can be invented has been invented”.

 

So what is the true origin an innovation such as the Horological Machine #2? Is it a prior invention enjoying a second coming? A coincidence in the time/space continuum? Six degrees of separation from an eminent forebear?

 

Do not underestimate historical coincidence. Remember the Kennedy/Lincoln ‘coincidences’?

 

Abraham Lincoln was elected to Congress in 1846. John F. Kennedy was elected to Congress in 1946. Lincoln was elected President in 1860, Kennedy was elected President in 1960.

The names Lincoln and Kennedy each contain seven letters. Both were elected on a civil rights platform. Both had wives who lost a child while living in the White House.
Both were shot on a Friday. Both were shot in the head.

Both were assassinated by Southerners and both were succeeded by Southerners named Johnson. Andrew Johnson, who succeeded Lincoln, was born in 1808. Lyndon Johnson, who succeeded Kennedy, was born in 1908.

Both assassins were known by their three names; John Wilkes Booth and Lee Harvey Oswald. Both names are composed of fifteen letters.

Lincoln was shot in a theatre named 'Kennedy.' Kennedy was shot in a car called a 'Lincoln.'

Booth ran from the theatre and was caught in a warehouse. Oswald ran from a warehouse and was caught in a theatre.

Booth and Oswald were both shot before they could be tried.

 

But back to the matter at hand. It is impossible not to think of such coincidences upon encountering this inkblot test, described in “Issues and Methods in Rorschach Research” by John E Exner Jr (Ed.) and published by Lawrence Erlbaum associates (1995):

The similarities are too great to ignore. So, who developed this inkblot test? Famously, it was Hermann Rorschach, a psychiatrist born in Zurich, Switzerland in November 1884. This is he:

Notice the strong brow, the aquiline nose, the moustache… remind you of anyone?

 

 

Oh well, maybe not.

 

Rorschach was a near contemporary and fellow-traveller of Sigmund Freud. Here is Freud:

In passing, it is perhaps noteworthy that Freud himself was a vocal advocate of the teleological theory described as “the Blind Watchmaker” concept, espoused by William Paley in his book ‘Natural Theology; or, Evidences of the Existence and Attributes of the Deity’, first published in 1802. But we digress.

 

Freud lived for most of his life in Vienna, and there practised his chosen field of psychotherapy. He used pseudonyms when writing up his case histories. Many of the people identified only by pseudonyms were traced to their true identities by the Welsh historian Peter Swales whose efforts are described in the 1984 book ‘In The Freud Archives’ by Janet Malcolm (In the Freud Archives, The New York Review of Books, ISBN 1-59017-027-X - www.amazon.com ). Here is where things get interesting.

 

Freud lived in an apartment in Vienna at 19, Berggasse: it is now something of a Freud shrine:

 

 

Whilst living there he wrote of one patient whom he described by the pseudonym “Little Josef”. That patient lived on Hörlgasse – literally two streets across from Freud (some amongst you might think that the streetname is uncannily similar to the English word ‘hourglass’) – and has been identified as a Swiss-German resident of Austria named Ernst Busser !!

Herman Rorschach visited Freud in Vienna in the winter of 1913 in order to debate with his esteemed colleague the value of his developing theories on projective testing. Freud arranged for Rorshach to be put up for several months at the home of his fellow national Busser at 46B Hörlgasse, Vienna. We may never know what Busser and Rorschach discussed over the dinner table on those long cold winter nights, but we can know what Freud and Rorschach discussed by day: ten years later the product of their brief collaboration was published as ‘ The Application of the Interpretation of Form to Psychoanalysis’ . Rorschach, H., Freud, S. & Oberholzer, E. (1923).  Journal of Nervous and Mental Diseases, 60, 225–"248, 359–"379.

Fortuitously, we are able to track the life of Freud’s patient in the very complete Austrian national record of births, deaths and marriages, known as the Standesamt ( www.help.gv.at ). It discloses that Ernst Busser was a senior bank official and was married (in 1903) to Cäcilie Lanzer. They had five children, one of whom died at birth.

 

Sure enough, the youngest of the four surviving children, Herbert Busser, was born in 1920, qualified with a degree in public affairs from Vienna University - Universität Wien - in 1947 and moved to his family’s base in Lausanne to commence a position in the Swiss civil service. He met and married his Indian-born wife Menha in Bombay in 1959 before taking up a posting as a diplomat in Milan in 1962.

 

Maximillian Busser was born in Milan in1967 but moved to Lausanne whilst still a child, ultimately graduating in 1991 with a Masters in Microtechnology Engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Lausanne, becoming the MD at Harry Winston a mere seven years later. The rest is now the stuff of legend.

 

But what about that Rorschach inkblot? Butterfly Effect? Six degrees of separation? Coincidence? You be the judge.

I can't help but think of welding goggles!

The lenses as glasses, the inner nose piece as the ridged crown shield. Even the outer finger tabs on the goggles resemble the structural details which lead away from the glasses on the watch.

My father is a plane pilot. He has been for over 50 years now. He actually got his flying license before his driving license.

When I was a kid, he used to take me to go flying. As I was barely tall enough to see above the instrument panel, I spent flights staring at my father cautiously adjusting the instruments. Therefore one of the things that reminds me of my father's passion are the flight instruments on the instrument panel.

When I first stared at the HM2, I just felt like the little child I used to be, fascinated by a new and extraordinary world.

To me, the HM2 is a piece of art expressing a passion.
